ETHILON™ Monofilament Suture, Black, 12", Size 10-0, with a TG160-4 Spatula Needle, is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of a long-chain aliphatic polyamide polymer, commonly known as nylon. This monofilament structure offers smooth tissue passage and reduces the risk of bacterial colonization compared to multifilament sutures.

The suture is dyed black to enhance visibility against tissue, especially in microsurgical or ophthalmic procedures. Its uniform diameter and smooth surface facilitate precise handling and reduced drag, allowing for minimal trauma during insertion. The suture produces only a minimal acute inflammatory response and is well tolerated by surrounding tissues.
